Melbourne - Victoria Market

This morning I decided to adapt a new character for a few hours when I step out from my apartment (I train myself to act and live like any other Melburnese since I arrived here) What I did was I turn into a tourist when I came near to the ever popular tourist attraction of Melbourne, the Victoria Market.

How to behave like a tourist ? I am a champion in this chapter… took out my phone, set the function to camera and there I go… snap snap snap…. oop… this mean you going to see lot of photos in this posting… hehehehe

Frankly, this were my 3rd time came to this spot… the last 2 attempt fail because I came at afternoon. I read it from tourist handbook early this week that the market only operate from morning till noon time. Also, it only open on certain day of the week so please check the tourist handbook before you walk to this place (to the north of Melbourne CBD .. walking distance)

For this blogging, I will focus only on the main building which selling various type of stuffs (I saw another few building not to far away which have fresh meat and seafood)
What does various stuffs mean ? mmm… lazy to type out one by one…. just imaging what you can get in pasar malam lar…. or something like Bangkok morning market (Chap xxx xxx) or Petaling Street in KL. Among the things I can recall now are colorful T-shirt, winter dress, sport shoe, cute cute decoration stuffs, watches, electronics toy, sexy lady undy… guys too, native art works and many more.   oh ya… I also saw some sideway cafe along the market.

To walk in the market place is very comfortable… the crowd were not too heavy and big walking space, no need to brush shoulder or get molested like those popular Asian tourist market.
Please allow me to make a not so nice  remark here. The vendors here facing similar problem as Petaling Street (which mainly engaged foreign man power like Bangla and Pakistan to taking care of the store) Over here at Victoria Market, I discovered most of the stores were taking care by either Asian or Indian. Just different from my original imagination. 
Next subject is DOUGHNUT. Ah Boy kept on telling me he miss the original doughnut from Australia…. meaning no color color stuffs like those serve in Crispy Kream or Big Apple.

We saw the above road side Hot Doughnut van last week but Easter day than no so chance to taste it. I rushed over to the van this morning and paid AUD$ 2.70 for these 3 hot doughnut as my breakfast.

It taste great because still steamy hot.. at the centre of the doughnut, they add in some jam…. cute !
Now, after bite all my doughnut.. camera out and started to act like tourist again.

Do you know almost half of the patron to Victoria Market are tourist from Asia ? I know because I can easily pick out that group next to T-shirt store was from Malaysia because  they in hot discussion on how to track back their missing mother. Than turn around i hear another 3 lady from Indonesia tell each other what they found in another store. Singaporean very easy to pick out lar… they act like Sui Sui…. dress nice nice walk nice nice… buy also buy nice nice… hehehehe
Lets move to next photo…… fresh fruit …. saw one young white guy just picked up a green apple, paid the vendor lady 40cents and there he go… bite the apple… no need washing oh !!!!!!

and green green vegetable too… mmm… choy sum expensive too.. hehehe

Now…. come to the stuffs that most of us from SEA will die for… the fur things…… look at the color of these collection of nice boots !

… and these sheep skin…. I remember back to few years ago I went to a friend place and cant stop my hand from touching his collection gently. I love the sheep skin…. I promise myself I will get a few in future when i have a bigger place !!!!!

Actually I got lot more to share but decided not to carry on… let me bring you all here when you come to Melbourne visit me.. how ?
